BP Starts Full Commercial Operation at Texas Wind Farm

BP Wind Energy today announced full commercial operation of Phase I of the Sherbino Wind Farm in Pecos County in west Texas. The first 150 megawatts (MW) of the project, which has a potential capacity of 750 MW, has been built through a 50-50 joint venture agreement with Padoma Wind Power LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of NRG Energy Inc.

Raser Close to Finishing First Geothermal Plant

As Raser Technologies, Inc. gears up to complete its first distributed geothermal project in Utah, the company announced yesterday that it has received the final US $21 million tax equity payment that will play a large part in financing its 10-megawatt (MW) Thermo geothermal power project.

SCHOTT Solar Unveils New Photovoltaic Module for U.S. Market

SCHOTT Solar announced today that it will unveil a new 225 watt polycrystalline photovoltaic module at the Solar Power International show in San Diego, California. The new product shall be manufactured at the company’s North American flagship solar manufacturing facility, currently under construction in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It will be sold under the brand-name SCHOTT Solar Poly 225 and will complement the 310 watt module currently manufactured at SCHOTT Solar’s Billerica, Massachusetts facility.

SCHOTT Solar Announces Multi-Year Contract with AEE Solar

Here’s a little mystery to solve – a tub of sour cream purchased at Whole Foods yesterday. Right, it’s a week past the expiration date, this being in addition to to getting credited with a double-counting of packaged walnuts at the checkout.
