I am still amazed how CEOs of American oil companies refuse to diversify their activities. European oil companies are diversifying.

For example, the French company Total is investing in renewables and is thinking about nuclear. Similarly, BP is also investing in renewables, even if there are some troubles at the moment.

Both companies understood quite well that oil won't last forever, and that the sooner they will be active in other energies, the better they will do in the near future.

Hilarious, what is "opening more US land to drilling" a solution for other than their bottom line?

This ranting sounds exactly the same as that being broadcast by the coal industry at the moment. Non Hydro renewables are less than 2.5% of total US energy and yet these industry dinosaurs already feel so threatened they're squawking in public about it.

It's simple, adapt to change or become extinct.
