Very innovative, but out of reach for most of us. The positive point for me is that there are some creative people out there and businesses coming up with solutions and also driving more awareness with people. I will be curious to see what the next 12-24 months has in store in terms of solutions for the average family.

If you went for the $80,000 system and qualified for rebates of 40 to 50 percent, then the payback could be in the 10 year range.

One important consideration which is unknowable until the system has been tested 'in the field' for a lot longer, is how much the maintenance bills will be.

But the main point is that these are prototype systems, which always cost a lot more than mass produced systems, and we need the early adopters to see what works, and what doesn’t.

I'm sorry, but this is bullshit. Building (or buying) this system will cost you a lot more than you will ever pay to your regular electric company.
